Day-by-Day Itinerary

1
Day 1: CITY TOUR
Times
09:00 a.m. until 1:50 p.m.
1:00 p.m. until 05:50 p.m.
DETAILED ITINERARY:
09:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. (as you choose)
The tour begins with pick-up from your accommodation (provided it is close to the historic centre) or from the Plaza de Armas, to explore the magical city of Cusco and the Inca structures surrounding it. Starting with the Temple of the Sun, Qorikancha, "the enclosure of gold" as it was known, a sacred place where worship was paid to the supreme Inca god: the Inti (Sun)
We will also visit the imposing fortress of SACSAYHUAMAN, considered the greatest architectural work the Incas built during their heyday. The joining of the enormous rocks, assembled perfectly without any use of mortar, continues to astonish the world
Then we will head to QENQO, a sanctuary dedicated to the worship of animals. It is presumed to have been one of the most important sanctuaries of the Inca era.
PUKA–PUKARA, situated atop a hill, was a military post and an administrative centre; a collective lodge offering shelter, made up of terraces, stairways, passageways, watchtowers and niches. And finally, TAMBOMACHAY was an Inca sanctuary for the worship of water and a place reserved for the Inca. It is known as the Baths of the Inca.
After completing our city tour we will return to the city of Cusco at 01:50 p.m. or 5:50 p.m. respectively.

2
Day 2: SUPER SACRED VALLEY.
Time:
06:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
DETAILED ITINERARY:
We pick you up from the hotel (provided it is close to Cusco's historic centre) at 6:30 a.m. for the excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, which is characterised by very favourable conditions such as an excellent climate, very fertile land and the waters of the sacred river (Willcamayu). On this journey we can admire different villages, as well as making some stops at places such as Chinchero, Moray and Maras, where we admire textile art. We will also visit Urubamba to enjoy our lunch, and then visit the town of Ollantaytambo and Pisaq, towns that still preserve many ancestral customs and rites to this day.
CHINCHERO: A very traditional and typical place for its handicrafts and colourful weavings. The main attraction is the archaeological complex, along with the Sunday market where barter is still practised, exchanging products. Traditions dating back to the Inca era, the palace of the Inca Tupac Yupanqui.
MORAY: You can appreciate different terraces, each with a different microclimate, where the crop varies according to the altitude at which it is located.
The Moray complex is said to have had more than 20 miniature sectors in which different crops were maintained according to the temperature so that they could adapt, and thus the Incas were able to cultivate different products throughout the Empire.
MARAS: Here, from a spring in the mountain, salty waters flow towards more than 2,000 pools where they collect and where the water gradually evaporates thanks to the heat of the sun, thus producing salt, an element so characteristic of this area of Peru.
URUBAMBA: A great place with Inca crops, most importantly maize, and today a beautiful countryside with great fruit production. An excellent place to enjoy our buffet lunch.
OLLANTAYTAMBO: Today you can visit this fortress, as well as the rich sites made up of the temple to Inti (sun god), the Baths of the Ñustas (princesses), the chullpas of Cachiccata, and a group of symmetrically stepped, very steep terraces on the slope of a hill.
The present-day town of Ollantaytambo has many houses built on the foundations of the ancient Inca town, inhabited by natives with deeply rooted ancestral customs.
PÍSAC: This place has the best terracing system worked by the Incas.
Near the town lies the Archaeological Park of Pisac, with Inca archaeological sites, structures of polished, finely assembled stones, a citadel, watchtowers, military fortresses, an astronomical observatory, and so on. We observe the Inca cemetery, the largest in all of America, with around 10,000 tombs, ending all our services.
WE RECOMMEND BRINGING:
Original identity document or passport.
Original student card (if you have one)
Hats and caps
