Day 1

Hotel pick-up time: Between 03:00 a.m. and 03:30 a.m.
End time: approximately 05:00 p.m.
DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 01:
We will begin our journey when we pick you up from your hotel at 03:00 a.m. (provided you are near the historic centre of Arequipa). On a journey of approx. 3 hours we will arrive in Chivay, where we will have breakfast. After breakfast we will set off for the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint (3500 m.a.s.l.) where we will watch the majestic flight of the condor and the largest canyon in the world; here we will stay approximately 30 minutes.
Then we will continue towards the village of San Miguel, where we will start our hike at approx. 9:30 am at 3280 m.a.s.l. After three hours of walking we will reach the village of San Juan de Chuccho, where we will have lunch; half an hour of rest will be given before we begin our hike of approximately 3 hours through the villages of Cosñirhua and Malata (2660 m.a.s.l.), and then reach Sangalle at approx. 4:30, where we will have the afternoon free to enjoy the scenery and the facilities of the bungalows; we will have dinner and rest.
DAY 02:
We meet at 5.00 in the morning, as agreed with the guide, to climb up to the village of Cabanaconde; our hike will last approximately 3 hours and we will have breakfast in Cabanaconde.
We will begin the return towards the village of Chivay. On the way back we will stop in the villages of Pinchollo and Maca, as well as at the Choquetico and Antahuilque viewpoints, from where we will observe the impressive terracing of the valley and the beautiful scenery. We will enjoy the hot springs at Chacapi, whose thermal-medicinal waters range between 35º C and 38º C in the pools. Buffet lunch in Chivay (paid for by the client). We will then begin our return to the city of Arequipa. We will stop at the Volcanoes Viewpoint, which is also the highest point of the road (4800 m.a.s.l.), from where we will appreciate a large part of the western mountain range. Skirting the Chachani snow-capped peak towards Pampa Cañahuas, we will pass through the home of vicuñas, which graze freely in this area. We will arrive in Arequipa and drop you off near the main square.

We will arrive in the city of Arequipa and drop you off very close to the Plaza de Armas.

CONNECTION TO PUNO:
Also, should you wish to end your trip in the city of Puno instead of returning to Arequipa, this is possible. This service would be Chivay to Puno, departing every day from 1.00 p.m., arriving in the city of Puno at approximately 7.00 p.m. the same day, making tourist stops along the way to appreciate the flora and fauna of the area; it includes tourist transport and professional guiding in Spanish and English.
We will depart from the city of Chivay (Colca) to the city of Puno, making three stops along the way:
"MIRADOR DE LOS ANDES": located at 4900 m.a.s.l. we will stop to observe the volcanoes Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca Hualca, Mismi (the source where the Amazon River is born) and the Chila mountain range. The "Apachetas" can also be seen.
"PATAHUASI" (PAMPA CAÑAHUAS): Located in the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, which lies behind the Chachani volcano, we will find vicuñas, llamas and alpacas. A place where we can taste hot drinks made from natural herbs such as coca, chachacoma and muña; at this point you can also use the toilets, as well as buy handicrafts and souvenirs.
"LAGUNILLAS": At this viewpoint there is a panoramic view of the small lakes that seem to be mirrors reflecting the sky; it is also the habitat of Andean flamingos and other birds — without doubt, a great opportunity to take photographs. Finally, we will arrive in the city of Puno.
