Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1
03:00 to 03:30 a.m. – Pick-up of passengers from the different hotels (provided they are near the historic centre of Arequipa), to begin the journey via Yura; the trip will go directly towards Cruz del Cóndor (approx. 5 hours), stopping only for breakfast.
08:30 am, approximately
We will arrive at Cruz del Cóndor, from where we can appreciate one of the deepest canyons in the world and where the condor sanctuary is located.
On the way back we will stop in the villages of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque, which have beautiful colonial churches; as well as at the Antahuilque and Choquetico viewpoints, from where we can observe the pre-Inca tombs and models and the beautiful scenery of the Colca with its impressive terracing.
Visit to the hot springs (entrance 15.00 soles per person)
12:00 noon approx. – Lunch in Chivay (not included) and return once again to our city of Arequipa.
13:30 p.m.
On the way back we will stop at the volcanoes viewpoint (highest point 4,910 m.a.s.l.), at the Tocra wetlands where a diversity of wild birds and herds of alpacas and llamas can be seen; at Pampa Cañahuas we will observe droves of vicuñas (part of the Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve), the beautiful South American camelid possessing one of the finest fibres in the world.
17:45 p.m. approx.
Arrival in Arequipa.
CONNECTION TO PUNO:
Also, should you wish to end your trip in the city of Puno instead of returning to Arequipa, this is possible. This service would be Chivay to Puno, departing every day from 1.00 p.m., arriving in the city of Puno at approximately 7.00 p.m. the same day, making tourist stops along the way to appreciate the flora and fauna of the area; it includes tourist transport and professional guiding in Spanish and English.
We will depart from the city of Chivay (Colca) to the city of Puno, making three stops along the way:
"MIRADOR DE LOS ANDES": located at 4900 m.a.s.l. we will stop to observe the volcanoes Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca Hualca, Mismi (the source where the Amazon River is born) and the Chila mountain range. The "Apachetas" can also be seen.
"PATAHUASI" (PAMPA CAÑAHUAS): Located in the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, which lies behind the Chachani volcano, we will find vicuñas, llamas and alpacas. A place where we can taste hot drinks made from natural herbs such as coca, chachacoma and muña; at this point you can also use the toilets, as well as buy handicrafts and souvenirs.
"LAGUNILLAS": At this viewpoint there is a panoramic view of the small lakes that seem to be mirrors reflecting the sky; it is also the habitat of Andean flamingos and other birds — without doubt, a great opportunity to take photographs. Finally, we will arrive in the city of Puno.
