Day-by-Day Itinerary

1
Day 1
We pick you up from the hotel at 6:30 a.m. (provided it is near the historic centre of Cusco) for the excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, which is characterised by very favourable conditions, such as an excellent climate, very fertile land and the waters of the sacred river (Willcamayu). On this journey we can appreciate different villages and also make some stops at places such as Chincheros, Moray and Maras, where we admire textile art. We will also visit Urubamba to enjoy our lunch, then we visit the towns of Ollantaytambo and Pisac, towns that still preserve many ancestral customs and rites to this day.
CHINCHEROS: A very traditional and typical place for its handicrafts and colourful weavings. The main attraction is the archaeological complex; the Sunday market where barter is still practised, exchanging products. Traditions from the Inca era, palace of Inca Tupac Yupanqui.
MORAY: you can see different terraces, each with a different microclimate, where the crop varies according to the altitude.
The Moray complex would have more than 20 sectors in miniature in which different crops were maintained according to the temperature so that they could adapt, and thus the Incas were able to grow different products throughout the Empire.
MARAS: Here, from a spring in the mountain, the salty waters flow towards the pans — more than 2000 — where they collect and where the water gradually evaporates thanks to the heat of the sun, thus producing salt, an element so characteristic of this area of Peru.
URUBAMBA: A great place with Inca produce, the most important being maize, and today a beautiful countryside with a large production of fruit trees. An excellent place to enjoy our buffet lunch.
OLLANTAYTAMBO: Today you can visit this fortress, as well as the rich sites, made up of the temple to Inti (sun god), the baths of the Ñustas (princesses), the chullpas of Cachiccata, and a group of symmetrically stepped and very steep terraces on the hillside.
The present-day town of Ollantaytambo has many houses built on the foundations of the ancient Inca town, inhabited by natives with deep-rooted ancestral customs.
PISAC: This place has the best system of terracing worked by the Incas.
Near the town lies the Archaeological Park of Pisac, Inca archaeological sites, constructions in finely polished and assembled stones, a citadel, watchtowers, military fortresses, an astronomical observatory, etc. We observe the Inca cemetery, the largest in all of America with around 10 thousand tombs; then returning to the historic centre of Cusco at approximately 7:15 p.m., and the end of all our services.
