What is usually NOT included
This is what tends to cause confusion. At virtually every agency, these costs are separate:
- Colca Valley tourist ticket: tiered rates — Peruvian children/students and seniors S/ 5, Peruvian adults S/ 20, Latin Americans S/ 40, non-Latin foreign visitors S/ 70.
- La Calera hot springs: S/ 15 per person (optional).
- Museum and archaeological site entries in the city (for example, the Santa Catalina Monastery).
- Meals not specified in each tour, tips and personal expenses.

Tips to spend less
- Travel in a group: special rates from 6 people. Just ask us.
- Low season (January to March): fewer people and a green valley, though it rains more.
- Combine tours into a package rather than buying them separately: the 3-day combo works out better than paying for each excursion on its own.
- Carry cash in soles for entrance fees, hot springs and markets; not everywhere takes cards.
- Eat at local picanterías: you will eat better and cheaper than at the tourist restaurants on the main square.
